Bathroom and Kitchen Renovation in Ciudad Quesada: Prices & Timelines

The bathroom and kitchen are the two renovation projects that add the most value to a property in Ciudad Quesada. They’re also the ones that generate the most questions, especially in an area where so many properties haven’t been touched for 20 or 30 years.

If you own a property in Quesada and are thinking about renovating one of these spaces, here’s what you need to know before requesting a quote.

What typically comes up in Quesada bathroom renovations

After working in dozens of bathrooms across this urbanisation, there are things that come up regularly — worth knowing in advance:

Copper pipes to replace. 90s builds have copper installations that generally work, but it’s often worth replacing with multi-layer or PVC pipe while you have access. Additional cost: €300 – €800 depending on scope.

Damp in walls. In poorly ventilated bathrooms, walls absorb moisture over the years. The substrate needs treating before tiling for the renovation to last. Cost: €150 – €400.

Electrical circuit doesn’t meet current standards. Current regulations require the bathroom to have its own circuit with a high-sensitivity RCD. If the installation is old, it needs updating. Cost: €200 – €500.

These additional costs don’t always come up — but if they do, we tell you before doing anything. We never proceed without prior approval.

What’s included in a kitchen renovation

Our kitchen projects include:

  • Demolition and waste removal of existing kitchen
  • Plumbing: new hot/cold water and drainage adapted to the new layout
  • Electrics: new circuits for dishwasher, oven, microwave, hob and fridge
  • Wall tiling (ceramic, porcelain or stone)
  • Flooring (coordinated with the rest of the property if needed)
  • Kitchen units with quality fittings
  • Worktop in silestone, granite or equivalent
  • Basic appliances (oven, hob, extractor hood — fridge and dishwasher optional)
  • Wall painting

Optional extras: new window, access door, gas installation change.

Open-plan kitchen in Quesada: is it possible?

Many Quesada properties have a closed kitchen separated from the lounge by a partition wall. Opening this up to create an open-plan kitchen is one of the most requested renovations in the area.

It’s perfectly achievable in most cases. What we check first:

  1. Whether the wall is structural (if so, an architect and planning licence are required)
  2. Whether there are services running through the wall that need relocating

The cost of opening a non-structural wall and integrating the kitchen with the lounge is typically €800 – €2,500 on top of the kitchen price.

Bathroom and kitchen together or separately?

If you’re planning to renovate both, there are advantages to doing them at the same time:

Advantages of doing both together:

  • Only one disruption period instead of two
  • Shared materials transport and waste removal — cost saving
  • More efficient coordination of trades (plumber, electrician, tiler)
  • Typically a 5-10% discount on labour

Disadvantages:

  • Higher upfront investment
  • Property needs to be free for longer

FAQ

Can we live in the property while the bathroom or kitchen is being renovated?
For bathroom renovations, usually yes if there’s more than one bathroom. For the kitchen it’s more disruptive but possible for shorter jobs.

Do you provide a contract and invoice?
Always. We work with a written works contract, VAT invoice and documented guarantee.

Can we choose the materials?
Completely. We can advise you at local suppliers, or work with materials you’ve already chosen. Or we can handle everything if you’d rather not worry about it.

How far in advance do I need to request a quote?
The earlier the better. During peak season (spring and summer) our calendar fills quickly. For autumn works, it’s worth booking in summer.
